63. Paint or have the outside of my house painted.

$150.00 (after rebate) for Wagner Sprayer to Paint house
$400.00 Paint
$30.00 on Paint Brushes
$9.99 on masking tape
Finishing something you started almost 20 years ago....priceless!

Honestly he was right, painting this thing was nothing compared to the work in getting it ready to paint. Those paint sprayers had the paint up and on it so much quicker then when I tried to paint (with a brush) this place over 15 years ago! Honestly I don't think pictures really do the place justice. I live in a home now, not a dump, not an abandoned project, reflection of what took place to us 6 years ago.

Dennis flew out Friday night, Saturday after getting the paint that we picked out together, taking the jeep in to have the rear end worked on (we need it for the honeymoon!) we started to paint.
It couldn't have been any hotter of a weekend to paint (90 degrees in April!). But I suppose its better that then rain. Of course the heat didn't bother Dennis at all, but it got the better of me. The kids all had a blast, he shot each of them with the paint and that got a huge surprised look out of them. It was 'fun' if you can have fun with such a project, but it felt like family. What more could you ask for?

Its almost completed. I have a few areas to do a second coat on the trim, and a few spots where the stairs in the back are need touching up....but for the most part this chapter of my life I can finally close :)

Purchase a flat panel television

Ill confess, I didn't actually purchase it, but I worked hard on weekends for it. Isn't that the same thing? It wasn't free it was hours of labor! The company I work for sells flat panels and often needs help in bundling systems and games. I volunteered for the opportunity to get a new TV. The thing is, I have absolutely no time to watch TV, and have watched exactly 30 min since I brought it home almost 2 weeks ago. Sad state of affairs! So I am not a proud owner of a 32' flat panel combo unit. Too cool!

A bunch more completed or worked on

I don't have a lot of time to get fancy in this....but I have completed a few more:

12. Preparing for a marriage makes you pinch pennies....this one was completed this month.

66. De clutter the library. In an attempt to reduce what I need to pack I am selling on ebay like crazy. The thing is this room seems to multiply even with all that I have sold. I have easily sold over 1000 dollars in books yet the shelves are still filled....I don't get it??

82. House listed and up for sale as of two days ago!

83. Sell all my jewelry. Done! Money needed for wedding....all the jewelry from my past sold! priceless!

Several more are being worked on currently

Time for an Update and 3 to cross off

Its not that I have forgotten my list at all, its just well sometimes life gets in the way. There have been a few changes in my life and so I have made a couple of adjustments to my list as well as have the opportunity to cross off 3 more.

First.....#95 Buy a Record Player and play music
Last weekend I picked up a old fashioned record player. I've been wanting to do this for some time, to relive my own childhood and lets my girls do the same as I did. I pulled out all my old records and some from my mom's collection I snatched before she got rid of them. So all weekend and week long we have been listening to music. The Police, Disco, Prince, The Kinks, Go-Go's, Mama's & Papa's you name it, its been played. As Emily was going through my collection she saw the album Grease and her comment to me was...."MOM they had Grease way back then?" Yeah that moment was 'priceless' ha ha. The kids have had so much fun with this I wish I had done it a lot sooner!

Then . . . . #43 Have a family portrait taken at the beach. This is something else I have been wanting to do for a LONG time. So last month when the kids school had sign ups I went ahead and put down a deposit and yesterday we had our pictures done. The shot here pictured is a proof so it won't look like it will when its finished, but I can cross this off and honestly say, having your pictures done at the beach is work! I suppose thats unless you have really short hair!
Finally #37 .... the last update would be to cross off Decluttering my kitchen. I have been working away at this for some time and since my kitchen is so small you would think it would have been easier. But, with the cabinets painted and the stuff I don't need tossed. I can say this is now done too.

#94 Pay off the convertible

This one I kinda cross off by default. I suppose I should learn from this and specify exact details in the future, but in this case it is completed after I spent the weekend looking for a new fun car to run around in. My new baby? A sweet fun ride! Topless when wanted, bonus of a hard top and softtop, ability to go off road, handle harder terrain, high and mighty with lots of power my new ( new to me anyway and I don't like the 2007 look) .....Jeep Rubicon! :) Childhood revisited! I simply can't wait to hit the trails!

A couple more to cross off

I had an absolutely fun filled weekend this past weekend and with all we did I also get to cross off a couple more things from my list. Dennis and I headed out to the Ariozona wilderness and I got a fun opportunity to do some things I haven't in a very long time. We headed out first into the desert but ended up in the Pines. We have both been looking at this concept of Geocaching for some time. Dennis took his kids out last weekend in an attempt to find one of the local areas. They didn't have any luck. This weekend we headed out. Fully equiped to camp out and hike we were ready. Dennis has done tons of this, for me its been a long time. I did hit REI and picked up a weekend pack (top rated by Backpackers Magazine) and new hiking boots (comfy ones) and a box to make smores (the essentials you know!). The quads were packed and we headed out.

The results..... hiking is way more then I thought it would be. Of course he hit an area I probably shouldn't have tried for the first time out, since it was more of an intermediate/advanced type of hike in the terrain we were on. It was still fun, and while I had the fun of getting a down pour of rain even (ha ha) it was very pretty up on top.

So with a successful Geo find, we got ourselves deeper into the forest and spent the night under the stars (luckily it did stop raining). I had my smores and I can now cross off two more from the list. A camping trip and a hiking trip all in one :)

Oh yes and in the end I even had a lesson in patience while I chose to wait for the local "wild" life to cross the road :P
