One More Knocked off the list

Today after realizing I had not really captured anything worthy of turning in photography wise this past week I headed down to Old Town with the kids. The weather was perfect and the place wasn't too crowded. We walked around and I got to take lots of pictures. We ended up at the Jolly Boy SaloonRestaurant and had a wonderful meal. The Jolly Boy Saloon as it was called this even back in the 1800's was fun, authentic and the girls captured the heart of the guitar player. The meal was wonderful ....so another one crossed off the list amonst a very very busy weekend.

Additionally, tomorrow starts the first day of my attempt to not have any soda for a month. Considering I have been able to go 3 days without coffee as of tonight, Im thinking positively about the soda attemp

STOMP!

Today the kids and I got to see Stomp. It was as great as I pictured it would be. These 6 guys and 2 girls get out there and create a beat with just about everything imaginable. From match boxes, to kitchen sinks, to toilet plungers...........AMAZING! It was a great way to cross off one more item off my list. Given the chance I highly HIGHLY recommend seeing this!

I Think Ill go Fly a Kite!

Yep, thats what went through my head this morning. I woke up to another beautiful morning and after being a bit frustrated with the photo's Ive been taking I was trying to come up with some place to go and take a bunch of new shots. Boy did I! I think I may have almost used up the entire 1GB card today! (and yes I started empty) --that also included a trip to the Flower Fields in Carlsbad after flying kites :)

Today the kids and I headed down to San Diego and flew kites down at Sea Port Village. It was absolutely beautiful there. Being Spring Break I wasn't sure what to expect. . . . and I got lucky. There were a few tourists, but not at all what it could have been like. We spent the afternoon lounging and playing and taking a lot of pictures!

OH yes and can't forget ...............I get to scratch off yet another resturant. I got to try out a resturant down in San Diego that I have been wanting to try out for years.......right behind the last photo shown is the Harbor House, we had lunch there and it was as good as I hoped it would be. The service was fantastic, food was great and we had this amazing view of the water and of the little duck pond down below filled with baby ducks.

Take a walk on the Wild side.......Wild Africa that is!

Yesterday the kids and I trecked out to The Wild Animal Park again. It was crowded.....actually it wasn't too bad when we first arrived, but every row was filled with cars when we headed out, and for anyone who knows the Wild Animal Park THATS CRAZY! Im spoiled living so close and knowing you can hit the Park without crowds. So why in the world would I want to hit it while its packed? Ah well, even though it hadn't occured to me that it was Spring Break we still had fun. I couldn't talk them into taking the longer hike through the park, so instead we took the Heart of Africa walk. (Andrew had only had 4 hours of sleep or so from sleeping at a friends house). The question of the day.....or questions were:

Why in the world was there a puppy in with the lion cub?

Does the giraffe really think he can hide?

Photography Class & more

My first of 2 different photography classes started up this past Wednesday, so as in my patient practice....Im crossing this off now :) Im so excited to see how much more I will be learning with having this a part of my life for the upcoming weeks. This week I have been already learning so much about aperature and exposure. Hard to completely wrap your mind around it until you get out and start taking pictures. So this afternoon, being that my son just returned from his long trip to DC we have a lazy afternoon and I went walking and took a few pictures trying to learn what I was being taught. I learn best at hands on, so that was the best way to tackle this. So since I have in fact started working on my assignment of my class I therefore cross this off my list as a work in progress!

Additionally --I have an update:

Another resturant got crossed off last Friday night. A friend took me out to Fuddruckers . We had a great meal and I tried another resturant out!
What did I eat??? A pineapple twist sandwich......YUM!

Finally: I have modified 3 or 4 items on my list after much thought and prayer, there are more important things in life then things to spend money on!

Wow 2 new resturants in one weekend!

Very unexpectedly today a friend took me to a new resturant for lunch. We ate at Joe's Crab Shack in Oceanside. The place is wildly entertaining. Fisher price toys and gadgets hang from the ceilings.......so much to see you hardly know what to look at. Plus a view out on the harbor! The food was great (the bread passes the Peach test :P yum!) as was the company.. so indeed another resturant crossed off the list. Fun Fun! :)

Another new restaurant crossed off!

Last night a bunch of us got together and had sushi before watching a movie. We ate at 'The Japanese Cafe' . The food was actually pretty good, now granted I was up at 3:30 that morning and hadn't had lunch, but in my opinion and everyone around me seemed to enjoy the food also, it was good food along with good company....so one more restaurant crossed off the list :)
