87. Knit 3 Scarfs

Its funny how long this can take when all you have the energy to do is knit an inch a night. Especially considering I was able to knit one of the first 2 in 2 days on our trip up north. Each night I was determined to finish the last scarf but each night all I had the energy to do was barely an inch. Until last night. Yesterday I started watching the 2nd season of 24...its good, not as good as the first...but instead of crawling into bed to watch it I decided to stay sitting in a chair, and so I got to finish this scarf. Its my favorite of the 3.

Of course now the fight in the house is who gets what :)

Updated Progress etc

Given all the time I had in the past few days on vacation, when I wasn't driving that is....my gosh that was a ton of driving! Side note: I have decided that driving is way to overrated.....one does not need to take a road trip of this type each year....Ill be saving up and purchasing plane tickets the next time we head up and rent a vehicle! But I did have enough time to:

Knit 2 scarfs

Read and digest one Self Help Book if you will.....Captivating : Unveiling the Mystery of a Woman's Soul by John and Staci Eldredge
Captivating is an amazing book. Last year I read John's book Wild at Heart ...it gave me a nice new perspective of a man's heart and desire. This one did justice, for my own heart. Strange to think you can gain a new look at yourself and what God has in plan for you just from reading a book.

I didn't get a chance to make a snowman unfortunately this year...the snow was too light and fluffy for that. I also have now fallen behind in keeping my checkbook balanced weekly so I have to start that back up again.

I didn't have my camera with me when sunsets were present :(

I have also decided to change one item on the list. Item 80, due to various reasons, Im going to drop this from the list and come up with something a little more challenging. I use to be a lot more active in life.......maybe detrimental in some ways, but I miss being with people more regularly, so becoming active in something...is the goal.

I almost forgot, I finally did get to scratch off a new resturan
t ....9 left now. Its surprising how difficult this can be. I like to eat at the places I know are good, trying a new place especially locally will be difficult. We attempted while in Boise to try a cute diner in the Boise Capital area...but it was closed....however on Monday night we ate out for Neeks birthday and ate at Chicago Pizza. I had never eaten there before and had a yummy calizone....so one down 9 to go.

I do realize that some may argue that this isn't actually a resturant...in my mind it is. I sat down, I ate, I didn't have to do any of the clean up...and well I had to leave a tip......so a Resturant in my mind! :P

Im a Snowbunny!

5. Go Skiing again and not fall. I did it I did it and I LOVE it!!!! Heading up to ski Ill admit after last years experience I was scared! Scared to death in some ways. But let me explain. Last year I got to ski for the first time in my life. It was scary enough that being the case, but then it started to snow pretty hard and get slick, so I fell....and ended up in first aid. That was that skiing experience. This year I had to face that fear. I did it. For some reason I eneded up having private lessons, didn't pay for it, but who was I to complain. So he gave me a few refresher things to consider, this was of course after Laura spent the hour or so before getting me all prepared for it. She gave me a few key facts, ones that hadn't set in from last ...like to lean forward heading down the mountain. So unnatural, you are falling forward why in the world would you want to lean forward! Not to long into the lesson, I was gliding down that hill. It became addicting, better then a roller coaster, faster then a roller coaster, I wanted the speed, and my instructor could tell. So he prepared me and then off I went!

With the way Im feeling now, this could become an addictive and possibly expensiv
e hobby :)

56. Go Bowling....done :)

Today we spent a fun day exploring what there is of Boise...ok not a lot so we made the most of it. Bowling was what the kids choose to do....I was all for it, roller skating was the other choice, and while I would have gone along with it, with skiing in the horizon, I honestly didn't need anything else to make me especially sore. So we went bowling....Ill add I was HORRIBLE, but I did beat my teammates...what that says when my teammates were 2 14 year olds and 1 12 year old, but hey Ill take it. First roll, both gutter balls....horrible horrible! Second time, I did manage to get a strike first roll, but the rest of the game while I managed to get 3 spares and a few 9s arrrgh I need help I need help! But then again its been 15+ years since I bowled so I suppose with that as consideration...not to terrible.

Ill say this too at one point I was worried my son would actually beat me at this! He came in a close 2nd in this match.

72. Travel to Idaho

Well after hours and hours of driving here I am ....wore out, exhausted BUT I did it. At times I questioned my sanity this trip. Lots of fun, stress and a LOT of driving...assuming that noise I hear isn't something serious in the car the trip further up north should go smoother. But for now....from Boise....I did it :) and how could it be better...arrival met with dear friends and a Margarita! :) (Now note I still have to go another 8 hours to the top part of Idaho but since I am in Idaho I figured I could cross it off my list )

I will note this however, Californian's and I say this being one who is born and raised...pure bred if you will, are PIGS....the freeways in comparison to the other states are horribly filthy....makes me sick to think we actually adopted a system...to keep the freeways cleaned up and we call this clean???

UTAH....This state NEEDS Starbucks! I looked and looked and looked and outside of Salt Lake City I didn't not find one....very much a disapointment to one who is needing coffee as a life line this trip. IV drip of caffene would be the next best thing to cups of coffee :)

I will say this for Utah though....they are soooo friendly...gone is the day of full service station gas stations. But in Utah the men come out and help you without an additional charge. So friendly and willing to help you.

1 shot...23 to go

Im not sure what it is but when I find myself needing to cry I often find that the best place to find comfort and cry is at the beach. I think no matter where I was to live Id have to live within driving range of the coast....maybe its the salty tears, salty ocean, Im not sure but its definately a place to be at to think, reflect and just cry. Walked out to the end of the pier but found it was too quiet way out there, so further forward gave some nice shots of the pier with a sunset and also allowed to listen to the waves crash.

There is something majestic and beautiful about watching the sunset....Im looking forward to seeing what Ill capture in the next 23 shots. It was hard to pick just a couple to share, but these are kinda pretty.

Im in Love!

Ok Ok I know lots of problems....but it is an item on my list....to get a puppy for the kids, and while I was driving yesterday I looked over to this car next to me and there was the sweetest lil face looking at me and I haven't been able to get it out of my mind....a small little sheltie!! She was adorable, so I did some research today, no haven't purchased the puppy yet, but oh I dont know Look at that face just look at that face!

Problem: How in the world could I add having a puppy to all that I do already?
Problem: How in the world will Kitty adapt to having a puppy in the house?
Problem: How do I keep a puppy from chewing on my shoes?
Problem: Do I really wanna train a dog????

The thing is when problems are put before me Im a problem solver....and look at this face! Shes too cute!

Well something to ponder over in the next couple weeks on our trip.
